Dior Men’s Winter 2023 Campaign Champions Yves Saint Laurent’s Prodigious Codes

For Fall/Winter 2023, Dior (PARIS:CDI.PA +0.57%) Men’s pays respect to the late Yves Saint Laurent, who succeeded Christian Dior as the Parisian label’s lead designer in 1957. Governed by present-day creative director Kim Jones, the collection, which debuted in January of this year, lauds the young prodigy’s defining codes through the lens of water — namely, that of London’s Thames and Paris’ Seine rivers. Now, as the season approaches, the Maison has pulled back the curtain on its official Winter 2023 campaign, reflecting “the idea of movement” that permeates the range.

The imagery, shot by Rafael Pavarotti, sets Dior Men’s forthcoming cuts against moody black and grey backdrops, signature tones to Christian Dior. In the foreground, Jones’ complex silhouettes — both poetically streamlined and exceptionally precise — articulate the brand’s modernity, with nods to the past. In the House’s own words, the campaign is “a multifaceted ode to the Maison’s heritage and the very essence of fashion: the beautifully useful.”

“The quest for elegance, combined with a concern for comfort and functionality, pervades every piece, including the sculptural knits that offer sumptuous drapes reproducing the undulation of waves,” Dior said of the collection.

Dior’s Winter 2023 campaign will debut on Tuesday, July 25. The images feature art direction from Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and styling from Melanie War, while Franck Lebon directed an accompanying film. See Dior Men’s latest sartorial imagery in the gallery above.
