Deluxe watch brand Rolex has revealed its new series of gemstone-adorned watches.
Rolex launched its new series of watches at the Watches & Wonders 2023 show in Geneva, Switzerland, on Mar. 27.
Decorated in the emblematic style for which Rolex is renowned, nine new watches were showcased during the event, from a new twist on the iconic Cosmograph Daytona to the size expansion of the already massive Explorer.
“The watches unveiled illustrate a desire to reinvent while preserving a sense of continuity, to innovate while being mindful of tradition, and to leverage technology in daring to create,” the brand stated in a release.
The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, famous in and beyond the motor-racing circuit, achieved its 60th anniversary this year. Rolex has revisited and restyled it for a “more modern demeanor” with new dial graphics and middle case. One version among several has an 18-carat yellow gold oscillating weight, a first for the Oyster Perpetual collection.
Meanwhile, the Perpetual 1908 is an entirely new timepiece inspired by one of the first Rolex watches with a Perpetual rotor. Its name “1908” references the date the Rolex trademark was officially registered in Switzerland.
New versions of the iconic Day-Date 36 were also unveiled. One version’s dial is draped in green aventurine, carnelian and other gemstones that evoke the atmosphere of the Mediterranean coast, while another version features a colorful puzzle on its dial, inspirational words like “Love”, “Peace” and “Hope” emblazoned in its day window and 31 emojis in its date window.
This year’s edition of Watches & Wonders, a famed trade show of the international watch and jewelry industry, kicked off on Mar. 27 and will run until Apr. 2.
Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, Rolex is a highly regarded Swiss watch designer and manufacturer whose brand is steeped in luxury lifestyle and culture. The brand is recognized the world over for its expertise and its products’ quality.
